Eucalyptus citriodora or Corymbia citriodora, a native of Australia, is a tall tree growing up to 45 m in height, with broad crown and sparse canopy. The powdery bark is smooth, white or pink in color, and sheds thin curling flakes. The lemon scented leaves are alternate, lanceolate or falcate in shape, glossy-green in color, and measure 10–23 cm in length, and 0.6–2.8 cm in width. Corymbia citriodora flowers are white in color, and arranged in axillary peduncles, measuring 0.3–1 cm in length. The pedicellate fruits are barrel-shaped, measure 0.8–1.5 cm in length, and 0.7–1.2 cm in width, and contain three enclosed valves. Corymbia citriodora seeds are boat-shaped, glossy reddish-black in color, and measure about 2.3–5 mm in length. Eucalyptus citriodora is generally grown for the essential oil obtained from its lemon-scented gum. The essential oil is widely used across the perfume industry, across the globe.
